SHALL WE DANCE?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to learn how to dance? Are you looking for partners who dance, or for a place to take your partner to dance? If you would like a place to dance, every week, in a friendly atmosphere with great dance music then come to "Dance Haddonfield."
Who is Dance Haddonfield?
People meeting people who want to dance and have fun. We are part of USA Dance, the National Ballroom dance nonprofit organization.
What kind of dancing does Dance Haddonfield provide?
Social dancing that includes Argentine Tango, Bachata, Bolero, Cha Cha, Country Two Step, East Coast Swing, Fox Trot, Hustle, Merengue, Night Club Two Step, Polka, Rumba, Samba, Salsa, Quick Step, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Waltz and West Coast Swing.  We are considering adding Charleston.
What if I don't know how to dance?
No problem, for beginners, we have instructors and classes from 6:45 PM to 7:30 PM.
How much does it cost?
Admission is $10.
What if I am single and don't have a partner?
You do not need to bring a partner. We have group lessons and "mixers".
What if I am not an outgoing person?
Social dance is a friendly, non-threatening environment. We will make you feel welcome.
What about age?
This is for anyone who wants to dance, ages 16 to 110. Age disappears on the dance floor.
When and where will the dances be held?

Dances are held in Haddonfield's Grace Church (19 East Kings Highway) every Sunday evening.  We rarely cancel the dance - only for severe inclement weather (or if Christmas or New Year's Eve falls on a Sunday).  The entrance to Dance Haddonfield is in the back of the Grace Church Parish House. The dance is on the second floor.

The intermediate group lesson is from 6 to 6:45 pm.  The beginner group lesson immediately follows, from 6:45 to 7:30 pm.  Open dancing is from 7:30 to 10 pm.

Free Parking!  Street parking is free or use the PATCO Speedline parking lot just 40 feet from the entrance. Drive up to the parking lot barrier arm - it magically goes up.

What type of music do you have?
We have wonderful dance instructors and provide a great selection of music as well as a sign board so that you know what dances are coming up.
Who may attend?
Anyone who is interested in a friendly place to dance. No matter where you are from, we'd love to have you. Membership in USA Dance is encouraged but not required.
What do I wear?
Wear clothes you can move in - ballgowns and tuxedos are not required (but if you want, go ahead! We'll be appreciative.) Please, no jeans, no clothes you wear to paint or clean the house. Wear shoes with leather or suede soles so you can easily turn and slide your feet. If all you own are sneakers, tape the bottom of the shoe with duck tape (silver side out) or slip on a 2 inch band cut from old socks over the toe/ball of the foot.

You can reach us by e-mail Here or by phone at 856-429-9154.
Or you can ask Joe Murphy, the instigator of this dance conspiracy.
What happens during the Open Dance?
We dance, or chat, or wander into the dining area for a snack or drink. After about 5 dances, there is a short break for announcements and Raffle Ticket prizes. Then the first Mixer: Followers line up. Leaders collect the first follower in line, dance around the floor, and return to the beginning of the line for your next partner. We play three songs for each Mixer.
There is a board on the stage that lists the dances that are going to be danced and a recorded announcement states "The next dance is... Waltz" (or Rumba or Hustle or Salsa, etc.). We dance the following dances during the Open Dancing:
  • Argentine Tango
  • Bachata
